Simply Angie Between some sickness and life circumstances, I haven’t been able to get a newsletter out in recent weeks. (Sorry about that.) I promised myself (and a dear young friend of mine) that I would absolutely, positively write something for you before today was done. Since today is Mother’s Day, I thought it only fitting that I pay tribute to the greatest woman I have ever known. My sweet mother has been in heaven for over 14 years now. I still can hardly believe that. I miss her every day. She is the reason that I have the absolute highest regard for marriage and motherhood. She taught me by her words and her actions the three most valuable life lessons I’ve ever learned:
I was blessed beyond measure to have Margaret York as my mother. Her example of faith, love, and commitment to God, her husband, and her children was remarkable. I once wrote a “product description” for a contest that asked entrants to submit a photo of something that was "Best of Breed" in its area or field and why they thought it was so. I decided to enter and submit a photo of my amazing mother as the "Best Mother Ever." I came across it recently and decided to share it with you. Best Mother EverJust about the most important and useful item in life is having a "good quality" Mother. Regardless of race, income level, or social status, if you've got one of these "best of breed" Mothers, you've got everything you need to live a successful and happy life.
Benefits:
This is a photo of the model that I have enjoyed for 42 years. Her name was Margaret York. She doesn't look as crisp and fresh as when I first obtained her, but oh, what a treasure! She still looks beautiful to me! Eventually, we wore her out entirely, and she moved on to heaven to be refurbished. There are all different types of mothers, ranging from ‘so-so’ to ‘exceptional’ in quality. However, after more than four decades of first-hand experience of extraordinary service, I can say that Margaret York was truly "best of breed" when it comes to Mothers. There aren't many in the industry to compare. If you can manage to get yourself a Mother like this one, you'll have a priceless treasure! If you’ve been blessed to be a Mamma, let me encourage you to renew your energy and your focus. Stand tall, lift your shoulders back, take a deep breath, and remind yourself that you have been entrusted with one of the most important tasks on earth. Don’t let the world and its philosophies warp reality and blind you to the truth of your noble calling. There is no other job on earth that is more valuable and rewarding than motherhood done well. By ‘well’ I mean according to the Word of God. Can I challenge you to seek the Lord and His wisdom and strength to enable you to be the wife and mother He desires you to be? It’s a daily seeking that is necessary. He will meet your needs when you go to Him. He will help you to gain the self-discipline you need to break bad habits of your own so that you can teach your children self-discipline in all the areas they need it to be what God intended them to be. He will fill your heart with love and joy so that your children can see His love and joy in you. Your home will be filled with laughter, smiles, and singing (even if it may be, at times, off key). With His Word in your heart and in your home daily, you will bless your husband and your children with a lasting impact as you live out His Word and seek to please Him in all that you say and do. While I am fully convinced that Margaret York was the best mother ever, perhaps one day your children will truly believe that I am wrong, and that the best mother ever… …was YOU! Happy Mother’s Day! Talk to you again soon. Can’t wait? |
