Charmingly Chocolate. Throw together some easy truffles with my Oreo truffle recipe. You won't believe how utterly simple it is to make, and so delicious! Also, join in the excitement and challenge of our Valentine's Day Ideas contest. You could win a wonderful prize! Before we get started, let me say Happy New Year! Hard to believe we're already nearly through with January, but I didn't want to forget to wish you all the best for 2012. I've very much enjoyed sharing 2011 with you in a small way, and hope we can swap recipes and treats all throughout this new year, too! My Homemade Oreo TrufflesThe only air conditioning we have in the house is in our bedroom. You can probably guess what I'm going to say next. :) Okay, laugh if you must, but I most certainly did make these Oreo truffles in my bedroom! Well, let me clarify. I "made" the truffles in the kitchen, but I "dipped" the truffles in my bedroom. It was my only option! I'm happy to report that in spite of getting chocolate on my bedspread, the idea was brilliant because these easy truffles were a stunning success. I ended up making more than one batch because they were so popular (particularly with my husband!). :) Here's the Oreo Truffles recipe and more photos of how I made them. This Oreo truffle recipe only really calls for 3 ingredients and it's a breeze to make, so do check it out! You'll love it! Valentines Day Ideas ContestI did this a few years ago and it was fairly successful, so I thought it was about time to do it again. Wait until you see the wonderful prizes that some of our sponsors have donated for the winners. They are fantastic! I can't tell you how jealous I feel that I can't enter the contest myself. :) I'd really love to receive these gifts myself. So, what are you doing for Valentine's Day? Plan something special, take some photos while you're at it, and then enter the contest here. You'll find all the rules on the contest page (there aren't many). You can enter candy, cakes, cupcakes, other desserts, party ideas, games, crafts, anything that really makes Valentine's Day special. I look forward to seeing your entries. Best of luck to each of you! Before I go, let me give you a few Valentine gift ideas if you're needing to order a gift for someone close to home or abroad. These are my favorite Valentine Gift suppliers:
